ABOUT THE DESIGNER
The PITAYA Collection is designed by Rose and Megumi, a Spanish and a Japanese women based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. All their kimonos are meant to be comfortable, yet stylish and versatile - the kind of clothing that you can wear for any occasion, day-to-night, casual or formal, and that you can easily match with any outfit. The designers source their inspiration from their multicultural roots and international experience, as well as the country they now call home: Malaysia, a tropical land with a rich cultural diversity and heritage.
Every single piece of the collection is unique and exclusive. Rose and Megumi carefully select each fabric and work on every detail of the designs themselves. The pieces are then handmade by Afghan refugees living in Kuala Lumpur so every piece is also a social commitment: provide fair employment to artisans who have expert skills but difficult life stories.
